Hello,
I think that other factors such as ambient or cell temperature may affect the resistances. Are you sure that you keep the temperature constant during your experiments? You know that polarizations are decreasing by increasing the temperature.

@arman borakdarpour! Same is the case with me. I am using nano silicon with graphite in a half cell. After cycling, the CT resistance decreases. What actually happens inside? Need further explanatuion.

Are you using a half cell or a full cell setup? If you are using a half cell setup, you should be able to attribute the change in Rct to the WE. At any rate, reduced Rct means that kinetics of charge transfer to the electrode material is improving, i.e., the surface is getting better. There could be other reasons for the loss of capacity. Does the ohmic resistance change as well?

Dear Ananya Kumar I agree with Dr. Arman. Yes, with first couple of cycling active sites of the catalyst/materials will expose more to the electrolyte and as a result kinetics of the charge transfer process will improve and Rct will decrease with cycling. Best Regards, Bapi
