How can I a cyclize quinazoline ring through reaction of amines...
Please elaborate your question. Do you want to prepare quinazolines? There are many methods are available for synthesis. See these papers 1. Org. Lett., 2010, 12, 2841-2843 2. Synlett, 2011, 1089-1096 3. Synlett, 2010, 101-106. good luck

Both monographs below will be for you a very good source of information about the chemistry of quinazolines. I recommend reading as a relaxation reading, preferably before bedtime. Brown D. J. in Quinazolines (Supplement I), The Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds (Taylor E. C., Editor; Weissberger A., Founding Editor), J. Wiley, New York 1998. Or older Armarego W. L. F. in Fused Pyrimidines, Part I: Quinazolines, The Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds (Brown D. J. Editor; Weissberger A., Founding Editor), J. Wiley, New York 1974.

Hello Alaa Mahrath , thank you for your answer i will make myself more clear i need to synthesise 4 anilino quinazolines using para-substituted anilines and amidine synthesized form DMF DMA and 5 noitroanthranilonitrile. would you explain more the MW synthsis u stated above ?!

You can react Aryl amine with CS2 & trietyl amine in benzene to get salt which then react with anthranilic acid in refluxing aq. ethanolic NaOH in equimolar proporation for 5hrs. and neutralisewith HCl to get quinazolinone ring system.

SA, Maiada,There is another method of making 4-aminoquinazoline. First you prepare 3-H-quinazolinone then you treat the quinazolinone with POCl3 then amino group. It works well. hello Maiada , actually there are more than one method to ring close, but the question depends on which kind of quinazoline want (2-quinazoline or 4-quinazoline). also you can use microwave oven 5 min. in stead of reflux.

Marco Brito-Arias thx alot but i need to start form 5 nitroanthranilonitrile and Dmf DMA then cyclize the product to 4-anilinoquinazoline ring using anilines . any suggestions ?!
