Is exsolution a kind of diffusion process?
For example alkali feldspars exist as orthoclase and albite (perthite) but at higher temperature, mixing can occur. When it cools exsolution lamellas are present in orthoclase domain. Does the phase separation occur by diffusion of atoms through lattice?
