What is the best etching method for AZ31 magnesium alloy?

Try using 4% nital. I personally use this for AZ91D and it worked very well

Hi Kim,

I had etched AZ31 magnesium alloy with mixture of 95ml ethanol, 10 ml acetic acid and 5 grams of picric acid (etching time about 15 seconds).
