What is the best way of storing DEA NONOate?

Chris Pohl  Follow

Dan already had given you the answer. I just want to add that DEA NONOate is fairly soluble and stable in organic solvents like DMSO and DMF when purged with intert gas (N2).

My suggestion would be to prepare a concentrated stock either n DMSO and DMF and make working dilutions in aqueous solution as required close to neutral pH to reclease NO.

The attached document from Cayman is worth reading.

Hope that helps.

I would imagine that storing it at pH 10 should be sufficient to limit DEA-NO decomposition. 8 is considered a relatively stable pH for short term -20C storage. I don't think you can guarantee that there won't be ANY nitric oxide being released, but the extent to which it's occurring should be a very minor percentage (<%5)
