Hi Xin, Saponin is very lot specific. If you are interested in making your own buffer, I would order a lot of small samples of different saponin lots to test. For commercial saponin buffers, you can order them from ThermoFisher, BD or BioLegend.

Nicole Acuff Thank you very much for the answer. Do you mean that some saponin products will not work well when used as permeabilization reagent? Have you ever used the saponin product from Sigma (S-7900)? Will that one work well?

Yes. It does not mean that one of the saponin lots from Sigma will not work, you just need to test to them to see which lot will work.
