What is the meaning of 100% porosity of a collagen scaffold?

Hi
100% porosity means there is no scaffold.  What method you have used to calculate ? I think you have to redo it.

Dear Purva. How did you determine the porosity? As porosity is defined as the volume of the voids divided by the total volume, 100% porosity is only possible if the two are equal, and thus the volume of the scaffold material itself is zero. Regards. Deon

Thank you everyone. I have worked with liquid displacement method for finding the porosity of my scaffolds.

I think you have not used the pure non wetting solvent ( some percentage of water will be present means its diluted solvent). due to which some of the polar solvent has entered membrane and showing porosity more than its actual porosity.

Recalculate...100% porosity would mean void volume...95-98% is more realistic
