Depending on the matrix you are going to analyse you have to find a suitable recommended analytical method for the area of testing. HPLC with UV detector is a suitable technique for human plasma analysis carbamazepine and its active metabolite. finding a suitable method using a journal article also another way.

To be honest, I cant imagine that I could receive meaningful, helpful anwers like these. I am following your all ideas step by step. In last week, I checked all modules and required some corrections. Dear Dao Chau,
If your lab just has LC-UV or FD. It should choose LC-FD because carbamazepine residue in water is too low concentration and find out suitable reagents for derivative reactions.
In sample preparation you can add EDTA (0.1 to 0.5 %) to remove metal traces to reduce noise baseline (in some case just adding EDTA the method validation also meet requirements of guideline) before using SPE (Oasis HLB is good choice in this matrix samples because I used to analyze carbamazepine residue in wastewater sample by using LC-MS/MS and SPE: Oasis HLB, Strata-X, C18,..)

SPE followed by preconcentration of the sample and HPLC analysis using a right method. I mean optimization of method parameters governing the analytical exercise.

All chromatographic analyses come down to the same thing:

1. Extraction and concentration of the sample such that the analyte, in the final volume, is in the working range of the instrument
2. Sample cleanup to eliminate or minimize interferences
3. Chromatography to eliminate or minimize interferences
4. Quantification against known standards.

You are not limited in any of these areas. You might not be able to directly inject the WW sample, but you can certainly extract, perform cleanup steps (without any automation! It is possible!! We all used to do it!!!!), derivatize if need be, separate adequately and then run it against standards, carrying the standards through the entire process to show that it works.

Is it easy? No. It is possible? Of course. Does it take study, knowledge and work? Yes. Will you get any of that by reading the answers here? No. So, get to work.
