Dear Dao Chau, If your lab just has LC-UV or FD. It should choose LC-FD because carbamazepine residue in water is too low concentration and find out suitable reagents for derivative reactions. In sample preparation you can add EDTA (0.1 to 0.5 %) to remove metal traces to reduce noise baseline (in some case just adding EDTA the method validation also meet requirements of guideline) before using SPE (Oasis HLB is good choice in this matrix samples because I used to analyze carbamazepine residue in wastewater sample by using LC-MS/MS and SPE: Oasis HLB, Strata-X, C18,..)
