AkzoNobel to Close Two European Production Sites

AkzoNobel announced its intention to close production sites in Wappenfeld (Netherlands) and Mahelen (Belgium) and consolidate production at other sites in the region.

The planned closures are part of the company's multi-year industrial transformation plan. In 2024, the company announced the closure of three production sites in Europe and Africa, and recently announced the streamlining of the Montataire plant in France.

All interested parties have been informed of the planned closures of the Wappenfeld and Mahelen sites and the subsequent measures, which will be implemented in consultation with local employee representatives.
