October 23rd, according to reports
I. Price Trends
According to the commodity market analysis system, the aniline market in China first increased and then stabilized this week. The price of aniline was 16,400 CNY per ton on October 19th and 16,600 CNY per ton on October 23rd, with a weekly increase of 1.22% and a year-on-year increase of 107.63%.
II. Analysis and Commentary
At the beginning of the week, an unexpected temporary shutdown at a factory led to a further tightening of Aniline supply, pushing Aniline prices higher. Subsequently, as Aniline prices reached high levels and the price of raw material benzene softened, coupled with the downstream's lower willingness to accept high-priced raw materials and purchasing only as needed, Aniline prices stabilized after the increase. By this Friday, the mainstream quotation for Aniline in China was 16,500-16,600 CNY/ton.
Cost aspect: Recently, the market price of pure benzene has been fluctuating and declining. After the successive restarts of Zhejiang Petrochemical and Hainan Refining & Chemical, the supply of pure benzene has increased. The cost transmission to downstream factories is poor, especially with significant reductions in phenol and acetone production. With low port inventory and limited future arrivals, the price of pure benzene has been fluctuating and declining.
3. Future Market Expectations
Jinling facility has resumed operation, and the pressure on spot supply is gradually decreasing, with market transactions returning to stability. It is expected that under the condition of no significant fluctuations in raw materials, the aniline market in China will maintain a high and stable operation in the short term. Closely monitor changes in costs and demand.
