Soaring 8200 Yuan / ton! The Collective Rise of Chemical Raw Materials!
Recently, the already tense geopolitical conflict has escalated again. In the past 24 hours, the situation in eastern Ukraine and surrounding areas has developed rapidly, including Russia, the United States, the European Union, etc. have issued a series of statements, leading to extremely turbulent global capital markets. Domestic futures also reacted strongly. Yesterday (23rd), the main contracts of asphalt futures rose by more than 6%, the main contracts of fuel oil futures rose by more than 5%, the main contracts of crude oil and LU futures rose by more than 4%, and the main contracts of iron ore and soda ash futures rose by more than 4%. rose more than 3%.
At a time when geopolitical conflicts are escalating and various force majeures such as overseas epidemics are frequent, another turmoil has occurred in my country's chemical market - many raw materials that rely on imports have begun to rise quietly.
Raw materials are soaring, and some imported raw materials are facing a crisis of supply interruption
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, among more than 130 key basic chemical materials, 32% of the varieties in my country are still blank, and 52% of the varieties still rely on imports. Such as high-end electronic chemicals, high-end functional materials, high-end polyolefins, aromatic hydrocarbons, chemical fibers, etc., and most of the above products and industrial chain segmented raw materials belong to basic bulk chemical raw materials.
It is not difficult to see that more than 30 kinds of chemical products in my country are mainly imported from abroad, and some of them are highly dependent, such as high-end monopoly products such as adiponitrile, hexamethylene diamine, high-end titanium dioxide, and silicone. Since the beginning of the year, the price trend of these products has gradually soared, with a maximum increase of 8,200 CNY/ton, an increase of nearly 30%.
Silicone: The current price is 34,000 CNY/ton, an increase of 8,200 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 31.78%.
Toluene: The current price is 6930 CNY/ton, an increase of 1349.6 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 24.18%.
Acrylic acid: The current price is 16,100 CNY/ton, an increase of 2,900 CNY/ton or 21.97% over the beginning of the year.
n-Butanol: The current price is 10066.67 CNY/ton, an increase of 1766.67 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 21.29%.
DOP: The current price is 11,850 CNY/ton, an increase of 2,075 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 21.23%.
Ethylene: The current price is 7728.93 CNY/ton, an increase of 1266 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 19.59%.
PX: The current price is 8,000 CNY/ton, an increase of 1,300 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 19.4%.
Phthalic anhydride: The current price is 8225 CNY/ton, up 1050 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, or 14.63%.
Bisphenol A: The current price is 18,650 CNY/ton, an increase of 1,775 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 10.52%.
Pure benzene: the current price is 7770 CNY/ton, up 540 CNY/ton or 7.47% from the beginning of the year.
Styrene: The current price is 8,890 CNY/ton, an increase of 490 CNY/ton or 5.83% over the beginning of the year.
Propylene: The current price is 7880.67 CNY/ton, an increase of 332.07 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 4.40%.
Ethylene glycol: the current price is 5091.67 CNY/ton, an increase of 183.34 CNY/ton compared with the beginning of the year, an increase of 3.74%.
Nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR): The current price is 24,100 CNY/ton, an increase of 400 CNY/ton or 1.69% over the beginning of the year.
Propylene glycol: The current price is 16,600 CNY/ton, an increase of 200 CNY/ton or 1.22% over the beginning of the year.
According to public data, the output of new chemical materials in my country is about 22.1 million tons, and the domestic self-sufficiency rate has increased to 65%, but the output value only accounts for 5% of the total domestic chemical output value, so it is still the biggest shortcoming of my country's chemical industry. So why do these chemicals from overseas, or the chemical raw materials that my country relies on overseas, suddenly start to rise in price?
