Behcet’s disease (BD) is a systemic, chronic, vascular inflammatory disease. Its main clinical manifestations are recurrent oral ulcers, genital ulcers, eye inflammation and skin lesions. It can also affect blood vessels, nervous system, digestive tract, joints, lungs, kidneys, epididymis and other organs. Most patients have a good prognosis, while those with eye, central nervous system and large blood vessels involved have a poor prognosis. It is more common in young and middle-aged men. The disease is divided into vascular type, neurological type, gastrointestinal type, etc. according to the different systemic damage to its internal organs. The vascular type refers to those with large and medium-sized arteries and veins involved; the neurological type refers to those with central or peripheral nerves involved; the gastrointestinal type refers to those with gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, perforation, etc.
