Rheumatic fever
Rheumatic fever is a common, recurrent acute or chronic systemic connective tissue inflammation that mainly affects the heart, joints, central nervous system, skin and subcutaneous tissue. The clinical manifestations are mainly carditis and arthritis, which may be accompanied by fever, sepsis, rash, subcutaneous nodules, chorea, etc. It usually occurs 2 to 4 weeks after streptococcal infection and is an allergic disease to pharyngeal group A hemolytic streptococcal infection. Arthritis is usually more obvious during acute attacks, but rheumatic carditis can cause death in patients at this stage. Acute attacks often leave behind varying degrees of heart damage.

Dirithromycin Enteric-coated Tablets
Indication: It is suitable for patients over 12 years old, used to treat mild and moderate infections caused by the following sensitive bacteria: 1. Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis: caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Streptococcus pneumoniae. 2. Acute bronchitis: caused by Moraxella catarrhalis and Streptococcus pneumoniae. 3. Community-acquired pneumonia: caused by Legionella pneumophila, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Streptococcus pneumoniae. 4. Pharyngitis and tonsillitis: caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. 5. Simple skin and soft tissue infections: caused by Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-sensitive strains) and Streptococcus pyogenes. Note: Penicillin is a commonly used drug for the treatment and prevention of streptococcal infections (including the prevention of rheumatic fever). Generally speaking, erythromycin is effective in the treatment of nasopharyngitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and can eradicate it; its efficacy in preventing rheumatic fever is still unknown.

Cefprozil Granules
Indication: For the following mild and moderate infections caused by sensitive bacteria. Upper respiratory tract infection Streptococcus pyogenes pharyngitis/tonsillitis. Note: Intramuscular penicillin should usually be selected for the treatment and prevention of streptococcal infections (including the prevention of rheumatic fever). Although cefprozil can generally effectively eliminate Streptococcus pyogenes in the nasopharynx, there is currently no reference data on the use of cefprozil in the prevention of secondary rheumatic fever. Otitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase-producing strains) and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β-lactamase-producing strains). Acute sinusitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase-producing strains) and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β-lactamase-producing strains). Lower respiratory tract infection Acute bronchitis secondary to bacterial infection and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase-producing strains) and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β-lactamase-producing strains). Skin and skin tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillinase-producing strains) and Streptococcus pyogenes are uncomplicated, but abscesses usually require surgical drainage. Bacterial culture and susceptibility testing should be performed to determine the susceptibility of the pathogen to cefprozil when appropriate.

Cefprozil dry suspension
Indication: For mild and moderate infections caused by sensitive bacteria. Upper respiratory tract infection, purulent streptococcal pharyngitis/tonsillitis. Note: Intramuscular penicillin should be selected for the treatment and prevention of streptococcal infections (including the prevention of rheumatic fever). Although cefprozil is generally effective in clearing purulent streptococci in the nasopharynx, there is currently no data available for the use of cefprozil in the prevention of secondary rheumatic fever. Otitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase-producing strains), and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β-lactamase-producing strains). Acute sinusitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β-lactamase-producing strains), and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β-lactamase-producing strains).
