Persistent occiput posterior dystocia
Persistent occipitoposterior dystocia is a difficult delivery caused by the inability of the fetal position to turn to a normal position during delivery. Persistent occipitoposterior is a type of abnormal fetal position. During delivery, the fetal head is connected in the occipitoposterior position. During the descent process, when the biparietal diameter of the fetal head reaches or approaches the mid-pelvic plane, most of them can complete the internal rotation movement and turn to the occipitoanterior position for natural delivery. In 5% to 10% of cases, the occipital part of the fetal head cannot turn forward until the end of delivery and remains at the back of the maternal pelvis.
