Colon volvulus
Colon volvulus refers to closed loop intestinal obstruction caused by abnormal colon development, such as mobile colon, excessive transverse colon and redundant sigmoid colon, which causes all the working segments of the intestine to rotate along the long axis of their mesentery. Among colon volvulus, sigmoid colon volvulus is more common, and it is more common in elderly men. Cecal volvulus is less common and can occur at any age, with a higher incidence rate between 20 and 40 years old. Transverse colon volvulus is rare if it is not caused by adhesions. The incidence of this disease varies in different regions, and it is more common in Shandong and Hebei in my country.
