Primary deep venous insufficiency of lower extremities
Primary deep venous insufficiency is a new category of venous disease first proposed by Kistner (1980). It is mainly caused by the elongation, relaxation and drooping of the free edge of the valve in the deep vein, so that when the blood flows back under the action of gravity, the two opposite valve leaflets cannot be tightly aligned in the center of the lumen, thereby causing deep vein reflux lesions, resulting in congestion and high pressure in the venous system of the lower extremities, and leading to a series of clinical symptoms and signs.
