Intestinal endometriosis
Intestinal endometriosis refers to a non-cancerous clinical symptom caused by the active endometrium invading the intestine under the periodic influence of ovarian hormones. Because the lesions usually invade the colon and rectum, it is also called colorectal endometriosis. It may be caused by multiple factors, such as the menstrual blood reflux theory, the coelomic epithelial metaplasia theory, the benign metastasis theory, the genetic theory, the cellular immunity theory, etc.
