Familial Mediterranean fever
Familial Mediterranean fever is a spontaneous autosomal recessive genetic disease of unknown etiology, which mostly occurs in people of Mediterranean descent, especially non-Central European Jews, Armenians, Turks, and Levantine Arabs. It usually starts in children, accompanied by fever and one or more inflammatory manifestations, such as peritonitis, arthritis, pleurisy, erysipelas, etc.
