Syringomyelia
Due to various reasons, a tubular cavity is formed in the spinal cord, which is called syringomyelia. There is often glial hyperplasia around the cavity. The disease develops slowly, and the clinical manifestations are symptoms of nerve damage in the affected spinal cord segment, characterized by dissociated sensory disorders with decreased and absent pain and temperature sensation, and preserved deep sensation, as well as movement disorders and neurotrophic disorders caused by damage to the long tract of the spinal cord.
