Amblyopia refers to the condition in which the corrected visual acuity is less than normal (less than 0.9) without organic lesions inside or outside the eye. Amblyopia is closely related to strabismus. Monocular deviancy can cause amblyopia in that eye, and amblyopia can cause strabismus.
