Choroidal laceration
The choroid is located between the retina and the sclera, and contains abundant blood vessels and pigment cells. It is less tolerant to external impact than the retina. When the eyeball is impacted by external force from the front and transmitted to the posterior pole through the vitreous body, the hard sclera has a resistance on the outside, causing the choroid to rupture and bleed under the combined attack of internal and external forces. The degree of vision affected varies depending on the location of the rupture. If the rupture is located in the macula or its surroundings, it can seriously damage central vision.
