Intracranial hemorrhage in newborns
Intracranial hemorrhage of newborn is a common serious disease in newborns. It is a common type of brain injury caused by birth trauma and hypoxia, and is also one of the main causes of perinatal neonatal death. The sites include subdural hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, periventricular subependymal-intraventricular hemorrhage, cerebellar hemorrhage and intracerebral parenchymal hemorrhage. In the past, subependymal-intraventricular hemorrhage was the most common and had a poor prognosis. In recent years, due to the advancement of obstetric technology, subdural hemorrhage caused by birth trauma has been significantly reduced, and periventricular-intraventricular hemorrhage caused by hypoxia in premature infants has become the most common type of neonatal intracranial hemorrhage. Neonatal intracranial hemorrhage has a high mortality rate and is one of the main causes of early neonatal death. Some surviving children often have various serious sequelae of the nervous system, such as hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and intellectual disability, which should be actively prevented and treated.
