Rosacea
Rosacea (mite dermatitis) is a chronic skin disease with erythema and telangiectasia that mainly occurs in the center of the face. The nose is purple-red like wine dregs, hence the name rosacea. Chinese medicine believes that rosacea rash is purple and red, occurs on the nose or the side of the nose groove, and is the lung and stomach. It is mostly caused by lung heat and wind or excessive heat of qi and blood generating wind. Over time, the skin lesions are purple-red, and there are symptoms of liver qi depression, which is caused by liver qi stagnation and meridians blocked by blood stasis. Pustules, papules, and nodules are caused by toxic evil. The rhinophyma stage is caused by stagnation of qi and blood and internal accumulation of toxic evil. "Surgery Dacheng: Alcoholic Nose" says: "Alcoholic nose is caused by the heat of blood in the lungs, which is then bound by wind and cold, causing blood stasis and stagnation, so it is purple first and then black. The treatment should be to promote lung qi to transform stagnant blood, promote the circulation of the Ying and Wei, and nourish new blood, so that it can be cured." The clinical characteristics of this disease are persistent erythema and capillary dilation in the center of the face, accompanied by papules, pustules, and nasal polyps. It often occurs in middle age and can occur in both men and women, especially women. Western medicine also calls it rosacea.
