Hypospadias
The ectopic opening of the urethra on the ventral side of the urethra is called hypospadias. Hypospadias can occur anywhere from the perineum to the glans penis. The distal end of the external urethral opening, the urethra and the surrounding tissues are not fully developed, forming a fibrous cord that pulls the penis and bends it toward the ventral side. Not all people with congenital curvature of the penis have hypospadias, but all people with hypospadias have curvature of the penis to varying degrees.
