Congenital bladder neck contracture
The bladder neck refers to a tubular structure that extends 1 to 2 cm from the internal urethral opening into the urethra. Bladder neck obstruction refers to the narrowing or restricted opening of the bladder neck due to mechanical or functional reasons, resulting in obstruction symptoms such as dysuria. It can be divided into primary and secondary types. Primary bladder neck obstruction is caused by functional changes in the bladder neck, not structural changes. That is, during urination, the bladder neck not only cannot open, but actively contracts. It may be related to sympathetic nerve dysfunction. Secondary bladder neck obstruction is caused by bladder neck contracture or stenosis due to a certain disease secondary to the bladder neck. It is common after transurethral prostatectomy, transurethral prostatectomy, bladder neck fibrosis, bladder neck tuberculosis inflammation, etc.
