Bipolar disorder
Manic-depressive illness is a mental disorder characterized by abnormally high or low emotions. Its cause is still unclear. It has two main manifestations, manic and depressive states. It can occur alternately and repeatedly in the same patient, or one state can occur repeatedly. It is cyclical and remittable. During the interval, the patient's mental activity is completely normal, and generally no personality defects are shown.
