Furuncle
Furuncles are acute suppurative infections of single hair follicles and their sebaceous glands caused by the invasion of Staphylococcus aureus from hair follicles or sweat glands. The inflammation often extends to the subcutaneous tissue. Multiple furuncles occurring simultaneously or repeatedly in various parts of the body are called furunculosis, which is common in malnourished children or diabetic patients.
