Pseudohypoparathyroidism with osteitis fibrosa cystica
PHP with fibrocystic osteitis is a rare type of PHP. Patients have tetany caused by hypocalcemia. Bones may be deformed and prone to fractures. Treatment can be done with vitamin D or its derivatives to restore blood calcium to normal, which in turn reduces PTH to normal and heals bone lesions. Treatment should be continued for life.
