Erythema nodosum
Erythema nodosum is a painful, nodular vasculitis syndrome that occurs frequently in young women. It is a reactive inflammatory disease involving dermal blood vessels and lipid membrane tissues. The skin of the anterior tibia of the lower leg often presents red or purple-red nodular changes. It is an autoimmune disease of non-suppurative erythema nodosum skin lesions. It is similar to the melon vine entanglement recorded in traditional Chinese medical literature. It is generally believed to be related to infection, especially streptococcal infection and drug reaction.
