Antimony poisoning
Antimony poisoning is mostly caused by the misuse of large amounts of antimony agents such as potassium antimony tartrate (tartar emetic), sodium antimony subantimony (antimony-273), sodium antimony gluconate, anticancer antimony (antimony 71), and accidental ingestion of antimony-containing dyes, safety match heads (containing antimony trisulfide), etc.; poisoning can also be caused by ingestion of acidic foods or beverages served in antimony-containing containers and foods contaminated with antimony agents. The toxicity of trivalent antimony is greater than that of pentavalent antimony.
