Familial hemorrhagic nephritis (Alport syndrome, AS) is a hereditary disease. It was first reported by Samuelson in 1874 and Dickinson in 1875. It is called hereditary nephritis, hereditary progressive nephritis, hereditary chronic progressive nephritis, and hereditary chronic nephritis in the literature. The main clinical manifestations are hematuria, neurological deafness, eye diseases and chronic renal failure.
