Mucopolysaccharidosis type III
This type is also known as Sanfilippo syndrome, which is an autosomal recessive hereditary disease. The clinical features and biochemical abnormalities of this type are different from those of types I and II. It is characterized by severe sluggishness, but relatively mild systemic lesions. The difference from type I is that the appearance does not resemble sphenoid syndrome, dwarfism is not obvious, and there are no complications such as corneal opacity or heart disease. There is mild contracture of the elbow and knee joints. Even if there is hepatosplenomegaly, it is very mild.
