Pigmentation spots refer to the uneven distribution of melanin particles in the skin, which leads to local spots and patches that are darker than the normal skin color. Excessive sun exposure, endocrine disorders, chronic liver and gastrointestinal diseases, improper use of cosmetics, etc. may all be the causes of pigmentation spots.
