Colonic fistula
Colon fistula is a common surgical pathological condition. Abnormal passages between the gastrointestinal tract formed due to various reasons, pathological passages between the intestine and other hollow organs or between the intestine and the body surface all fall into the category of intestinal fistula. If it occurs in the colon, it is called colon fistula. Colon fistula can be divided into two types: external fistula and internal fistula. The one in which the intestinal contents leak out of the body is called external fistula, and the one in which the fistula communicates with another intestine or other hollow organs is called internal fistula.
