Brain herniation
When there is a space-occupying lesion in a compartment of the cranial cavity, the pressure in that compartment is higher than that in the adjacent compartment, and the brain tissue shifts from the high-pressure area to the low-pressure area, causing a series of clinical syndromes called brain herniation.
