Erysipelas of the eyelid
Eyelid skin erysipelas is an acute inflammation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue caused by group B streptococcal infection. It is mostly caused by the spread of erysipelas from the face or other parts of the body. The upper and lower eyelids may be affected at the same time and spread to the surrounding tissues.
