Pott’s paraplegia
The incidence of spinal tuberculosis combined with paralysis is about 10%, with paraplegia being the most common in thoracic tuberculosis, followed by quadriplegia in cervical tuberculosis. The lumbar spinal canal is wide and contains the cauda equina, so compression of the cauda equina nerve in lumbar tuberculosis is extremely rare. Spinal adnexal tuberculosis is rare, but once it occurs, paraplegia is likely to occur.
