Sarcoidosis
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disease of unknown etiology. Clinically, the main manifestations are bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy, pulmonary infiltration, and skin and eye damage. Granuloma nodules can invade organs throughout the body. It is common in young and middle-aged people. Clinically, more than 90% of them have lung changes, characterized by bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy, pulmonary infiltration, eye and skin damage. The liver, spleen, lymph nodes, salivary glands, heart, nervous system, muscles, bones and other organs may also be affected. When there are typical clinical and X-ray manifestations, and non-caseous epithelioid cell granulomas in histology, the diagnosis can be made, but other granulomatous diseases should be excluded. The immunological characteristics of the disease are the suppression of skin delayed-like allergic reactions and the enhancement of type I helper T cell (TH1) immune response. At the same time, increased circulating immune complexes and B cell responses can be seen.
