Scalp infection
Scalp infection is mostly caused by improper treatment in the early stage after injury, and often occurs in the subcutaneous tissue layer. If not properly treated, the patient's scalp may become necrotic, or erode deeply to cause skull osteomyelitis, epidural empyema, and even subdural effusion and brain abscess.
