Common warts (verruca vulgaris) are benign skin tumors caused by human papillomavirus infection. In traditional Chinese medicine, they are called "warts", "thousand-day sores", "dry tendon arrows", and commonly known as "thorn warts" and "warts". They are common in adolescents and are often seen on fingers, backs of hands, and edges of feet. Damage to the skin and mucous membranes is the main cause of infection.
