Atelectasis in children
Strictly speaking, atelectasis refers to the fact that the lungs have never been filled with gas since birth, while the loss of the original gas in the already inflated lung tissue (eaeration) should be called pulmonary collapse. However, due to the habit of many years, the broad definition of atelectasis can include congenital atelectasis and acquired pulmonary collapse. The term atelectasis is still used here. Atelectasis is manifested by the lack of air in the alveoli, causing the alveoli to collapse.
