Staphylococcal marginal keratitis
Staphylococcus peripheral keratitis is also called marginal catarrhal keratitis or catarrhal corneal ulcer. As the name suggests, it is caused by the host's immune response to Staphylococcus aureus antigens. Because it has similarities with bullous keratitis, both diseases should be considered when distinguishing marginal corneal infiltrates.
