Crystalline SolidBrinzolamide was introduced as Azopt in the US for the treatment of
elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with ocular hypertension or openangle
glaucoma. Brinzolamide is a potent inhibitor of human carbonic anhydrase
Ⅱ lowering IOP after topical administration . It is the second of this class after
dorzolamide (1995). Brinzolamide can be prepared in an eight-step sequence
