| Dianhydrogalactitol |
This product is the diepoxide of dibromodulcitol hydrogen bromide. It has cross-resistance with alkylating agents and can be classified as an alkylating agent, but its mechanism of action cannot be fully explained by this. Its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis is greater than that of RNA and protein, and it is easy to form cross-links with DNA and can pass through the blood-brain barrier. This product has an inhibitory effect on animal tumors such as L1210, P388, B16 melanoma and ependymoma, and its efficacy on L1210 leukemia is 3 times stronger than that of dibromodulcitol. It is also a non-specific drug for the cell cycle.
