Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside can promote the functional recovery of central nervous system damage caused by various reasons. The mechanism of action is to promote "neuroplasticity" (including the survival of nerve cells, axon growth and synapse formation). Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside has a protective effect on secondary neurodegeneration after injury. The application of monosialotetrahexosylganglioside has a good effect on the improvement of cerebral hemodynamic parameters and the reduction of brain edema after injury. Monosialotetrahexosylganglioside reduces nerve cell edema by improving the activity of cell membrane enzymes. Animal experiments show that monosialotetrahexosylganglioside can improve behavioral disorders caused by Parkinson's disease. LD50 is 872mg/kg (i.v.) to 8g/kg (s.c.), depending on the animal species and route of administration. Subacute and chronic toxicity tests, teratogenicity tests, reproductive toxicity tests, perinatal toxicity tests and mutagenicity tests conducted on various animals did not show any toxic effects of this product.

20-40 mg per day, once or divided into several intramuscular injections or slow intravenous drips as prescribed by the doctor. In the acute stage of the disease (especially acute trauma): 100 mg per day, intravenous drip; after 2-3 weeks, change to a maintenance dose of 20-40 mg per day, generally for 6 weeks. For Parkinson's disease, the first dose is 500-1000 mg, intravenous drip; from the second day onwards, 200 mg per day, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous drip, generally for 18 weeks.

A small number of patients developed a rash reaction after using this product and should be advised to stop using it.

Allergy to this product has been confirmed; hereditary lipid metabolism disorders (ganglioside storage diseases, such as familial Tay-Sachs disease, retinal degeneration).

So far, no interaction between this product and other drugs has been found.
