Function and Efficacy

This product is a piperazine derivative of the phenothiazine class, and its pharmacological effects are similar to those of chlorpromazine. Its antipsychotic effect is mainly related to its blocking of dopamine receptors (DA2) in the mesolimbic system and mesocortical pathways related to emotional thinking, while blocking the alpha-adrenaline receptors in the reticular formation ascending activation system is related to its sedative and tranquilizing effects. This product has a strong antiemetic effect and a weak sedative effect.

Appearance

This product is a sugar-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the sugar coating.

Indication

1. It has a good effect on hallucinations, delusions, thinking disorders, apathy, stupor, anxiety and agitation. It is used for schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders. Because of its weak sedative effect, it has little effect on blood pressure. It is suitable for organic mental illness, senile mental disorders and children's aggressive behavior disorders. 2. It can stop vomiting, vomiting or intractable hiccups caused by various reasons.

Usage and Dosage

For oral treatment of schizophrenia, start with a low dose, 2-4 mg at a time, 2-3 times a day. Then increase by 6 mg every 1-2 days, gradually increasing to the commonly used therapeutic dose of 20-60 mg a day. The maintenance dose is 10-20 mg a day. For anti-vomiting, 2-4 mg at a time, 2-3 times a day.

Adverse Reactions

1. Mainly extrapyramidal reactions, such as: tremor, rigidity, drooling, bradykinesia, akathisia, acute dystonia, etc. Long-term and large-scale medication can cause tardive dyskinesia. 2. It can cause an increase in plasma prolactin concentration, and possible related symptoms are: galactorrhea, gynecomastia, menstrual disorders, and amenorrhea. Dry mouth, blurred vision, fatigue, dizziness, tachycardia, constipation, sweating, etc. may occur. 3. Rare adverse reactions include postural hypotension, neutropenia and toxic liver damage. Allergic rash and malignant syndrome are occasionally seen.

Precautions

Patients with basal ganglia lesions, Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's syndrome, bone marrow suppression, glaucoma, coma, and allergy to phenothiazines.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The dosage for children under 12 years old has not been determined. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women should use with caution. Lactating women should stop breastfeeding while using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Reduce the dosage according to the situation, start with a small dose and increase slowly.

Drug Interactions

1. This product can enhance the effect of each other when used in combination with ethanol or central nervous system depressants, especially inhaled general anesthetics or intravenous general anesthetics such as barbiturates. 2. When this product is used in combination with amphetamines, the effect of the latter can be weakened due to the alpha-adrenaline receptor blocking effect of phenothiazines. 3. This product can reduce oral absorption when used in combination with antacids or antidiarrheal drugs. 4. This product cannot enhance the effect of anticonvulsants when used in combination with anticonvulsants. 5. This product can enhance the effect of each other when used in combination with anticholinergics. 6. When this product is used in combination with epinephrine, the alpha-receptor effect of epinephrine is blocked, and only the beta-receptor effect is shown, which can lead to obvious hypoglycemia and tachycardia.
