Sodium hyaluronate eye drops
Function and Efficacy
1. Sodium hyaluronate is a linear polysaccharide widely found in the connective tissue matrix of vertebrates. Sodium hyaluronate can bind to fibronectin and accelerate the adhesion and extension of epithelial cells; sodium hyaluronate molecules can retain a large number of water molecules and have a good water retention effect. 2. Rabbit experiments suggest that topical application of sodium hyaluronate can promote the healing of corneal epithelial injuries to a certain extent. In vitro experiments suggest that sodium hyaluronate can accelerate the extension of conjunctival epithelial cells in cultured rabbit corneal sheets and prevent the drying of isolated rabbit conjunctival sheets.

Indication
It is used for corneal and conjunctival epithelial damage caused by endogenous diseases such as Sjogren's syndrome, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, dry eye, and various exogenous diseases (such as surgery, drugs, trauma, wearing contact lenses, etc.). It is especially suitable for patients with Sjogren's syndrome and Stevens-Johnson syndrome who need long-term medication.
Usage and Dosage
For eye drops, generally 1 drop at a time, 5 to 6 times a day, the dosage can be increased or decreased appropriately based on symptoms.
Adverse Reactions
1. Sometimes corneal disorders such as itching, irritation, congestion, diffuse superficial keratitis, etc. may occur. If the above symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately. 2. Allergies: Occasionally, allergic symptoms such as blepharitis and blepharitis may occur. If allergic reactions occur, the medication should be stopped immediately.
