Ribomycin Sulfate for Injection

Function and Efficacy

Ribomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. The antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of kanamycin, but the antibacterial effect is weaker. This product has good antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus and other Enterobacteriaceae, and also has good effects on some Staphylococci (methicillin-sensitive strains), Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Neisseria meningitidis. It has a weak effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Streptococcus, and has no effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and anaerobic bacteria. Bacteria have cross-resistance to this product and kanamycin. This product mainly binds to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. This product is less toxic than kanamycin.
