Pefloxacin mesylate is a quinolone antibacterial drug, and its mechanism of action is to inhibit bacterial DNA helicase. Indication

Various infections caused by pefloxacin-sensitive bacteria: urinary tract infections; respiratory tract infections; ear, nose and throat infections; gynecological and reproductive system infections; abdominal and liver and gallbladder system infections; bone and joint infections; skin infections; sepsis and endocarditis; meningitis.

Usage and Dosage

Intravenous drip: Common adult dosage, 0.4g at a time, add to 250ml of 5% glucose solution and slowly drip intravenously, once every 12 hours. Patients with jaundice should take the medicine once a day; patients with ascites should take the medicine once every 36 hours; patients with jaundice and ascites should take the medicine once every 48 hours. Or follow the doctor's advice.

Adverse Reactions

A small number of patients may experience: 1. Gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, etc. 2. Photosensitivity reactions, nervous system reactions, such as dizziness, vertigo, headache, tremor, insomnia, etc. 3. Rash, increased serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase, decreased white blood cells, etc. 4. Occasionally, local irritation symptoms after injection. The above reactions are all mild to moderate reactions and will disappear after stopping the drug.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or other quinolones or those with insufficient 6-phosphate glucose dehydrogenase.

Drug Interactions

1 Avoid taking theophylline, magnesium or aluminum hydroxide antacids at the same time. 2 Do not use sodium chloride solution or other solutions containing chloride ions as diluent.
