As a vascular sclerosant, it is used for hemangioma, varicose veins, internal hemorrhoids, temporomandibular joint disease (dislocation or subluxation), and is also used for oozing and bleeding on wounds in gynecology and surgery.
Usage and Dosage
The first injection is 0.5-1 ml of 5% solution (containing 2% benzyl alcohol as a local analgesic) into the varicose vein cavity. If there is no adverse reaction, the injection can be continued after 24 hours, 0.5-2 ml (usually 1 ml) at a time, no more than 5 ml a day, and injected at different locations every 3-5 days. When treating internal hemorrhoids, 0.5 ml of 5% solution is injected into the upper part of the hemorrhoids once a week. Common dosage: local injection of 0.5-5 ml once, maximum dosage: local injection of 5 ml once.
